Poppell Farms

During the months of June & July we grow sweet, delicious, watermelon, sweet corn, tomatoes, yellow squash & cucumbers. Our specialty is fresh shelled butter beans & peas. We offer several varieties such as: Canned Green Butter beans, and Speckled (Colored) Butter beans, also Pinkeye, Purple Hull Crowder, White Acre, Dixie Lee, Blackeye, Zipper Cream, and Butter Peas. Our fresh produce operation closes the end July. We re-open the first week-end in October with our "Farmtastic" Family Fun Adventure. You can catch a ride on a haywagon down to the pumpkin patch, where everyone who rides gets to select that "just right" pumpkin to take home. We also have a 10-acre corn maze that is simply "AMAZiNG." Visit our petting farm, and visit with Claude our Llama, Pearl and Elvis our resident donkeys, Abra-Ham and Link-on our favorite pigs, and all of their barnyard friends. For your enjoyment we have pony rides, duck races, cow train rides, Crop Hopper (jumping pillow), and Farmer Brown's Playground. If your hungry or thirsty stop by and vist our Calf-A concessions where they have grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, funnell cakes and lots of ice cold soft drinks. We are open every weekend during the month of October.
