Well, well, whelk.

Often confused for conch, and a substitute for recipes that call for this large-mouthed mollusk, the Knobbed Whelk is Georgia’s state seashell. Both are actually predatory sea snails – and boy, oh boy, are they delicious.

We sea-food everywhere.

With more than 200 seafood wholesalers and processors, Georgia has made quite a splash in the industry. We’re famous for the large variety of harvests offered, including: red snapper, mahi-mahi, tuna, triggerfish, catfish, rainbow trout, tilapia, shrimp, clams, oysters and crab.
