Ingredients
- ½ pound Stripling’s Jalapeno Cheese Pan Sausage, broken into small pieces
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ½ fresh jalapeno, minced
- 1 clove minced garlic
- ¼ cup chopped scallions
- 8 ounces Stripling’s Black Rind cheese, grated
- 4 ounces white American cheese, grated
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Salt & pepper
- Tortilla chips
Instructions
Heat butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add jalapenos, garlic and scallions to hot butter and cook until just wilted. Add sausage to pan and cook until slightly browned, 3 – 4 minutes. Stir all-purpose flour into pan mixing to combine. Cook 2 – 3 minutes, stirring often. Whisk milk into mixture in saucepan until smooth. Bring to a low simmer then add grated cheeses. Stir until melted. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve with tortilla chips or crusty bread. Makes 4 cups.
