Gameday Jalapeno Cheese Sausage Dip

  • ½ pound Stripling’s Jalapeno Cheese Pan Sausage, broken into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ fresh jalapeno, minced
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • ¼ cup chopped scallions
  • 8 ounces Stripling’s Black Rind cheese, grated
  • 4 ounces white American cheese, grated
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt & pepper
  • Tortilla chips



Heat butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.  Add jalapenos, garlic and scallions to hot butter and cook until just wilted.  Add sausage to pan and cook until slightly browned, 3 – 4 minutes.  Stir all-purpose flour into pan mixing to combine.  Cook 2 – 3 minutes, stirring often.  Whisk milk into mixture in saucepan until smooth.  Bring to a low simmer then add grated cheeses.  Stir until melted.  Season to taste with salt and pepper.  Serve with tortilla chips or crusty bread.  Makes 4 cups.
