Find LocallyThe shrimp industry is anything but shrimpy here in Georgia. In fact, it accounts for more than 80% of our total value of caught seafood. That’s between 4- to 10-million pounds weighing in at over $7.5 million.
While harvesting is allowed year-round in federal waters, we believe in balance. That’s why our shrimp season only begins when the Georgia Department of Natural Resources gives the go-ahead that adult abundance is sustainable, usually mid-June through December.
