Working Forest Owners

92% of Georgia’s forests are privately owned and account for 73,000+ jobs. With 14.5 trillion trees, we have more forests today than 75 years ago.

So many possibili-trees.

Privately owned forests supply over 90% of the wood harvested in the United States. It’s then used for home construction, furniture manufacturing, paper and more. In fact, trees from Georgia’s forests are used in more than 5,000 products!

We see the forest and the trees.

Georgia’s total land area is about 37 million acres. Of that, 22 million acres are dedicated to working forests – more than any other state in the nation. That’s two-thirds of our state – and our most plentiful, renewable resource.
