Georgia is consistently ranked near the top in pulp and paper production and in the top 10 of lumber-producing states. Clinch is our most productive county with over 67,850 green tons of roundwood pulpwood produced.
It’s true, our pulp industry is pretty plump. The most popular trees used for pulp include: Eastern Cottonwood, Sweetgum (Red Gum), Black Tupelo (Blackgum), Loblolly Pine, Virginia Pine, Pond Pine, Spruce Pine, Eastern Hemlock and Swamp Cottonwood.
