Agriculture’s can-do attitude and go-getter work ethic is the definition of entrepreneurial spirit. So, it’s no surprise that farmers and ranchers have recognized the desires of rural-hungry urbanites and created the “farm stay” – overnight lodging and working the land.
You don’t have to bet the farm to create a farm stay experience, but it isn’t cheap (or easy) – it requires special permits and insurance. But, nearly 60% of operators report that farm stays account for 10-50% of their income.
