The Great Southeast Pollinator Census 2026

Join Wimberly’s Roots for a free, family-friendly community celebration at the Wimberly Center in Winder, Georgia. This annual event highlights the importance of pollinators through a full day of hands-on activities, education, and citizen science. In partnership with the Barbara Shedd Prosperity Project, this year’s event offers expanded opportunities for all ages to engage, learn, and connect.

Become a UGA Citizen Scientist for the Day by participating in guided pollinator counts in the garden. Participants will receive a certificate of recognition and have opportunities to win prizes throughout the event.

Event highlights include pollinator counting sessions, educational exhibits, interactive crafts, and activities for children and families. Local partners and volunteers will be on site to share knowledge and resources that support healthy ecosystems and sustainable growing practices.
