Chef Christian Perez

Executive Chef of City Pharmacy

Christian Perez is the executive chef of City Pharmacy, a New Southern restaurant in historic downtown Covington, Georgia. Prior to City Pharmacy, chef Perez climbed the ranks in fine dining kitchens in Atlanta and New York City, including the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, City Club of Buckhead, The Pig & The Pearl, White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails and New York’s celebrated Cosme. Her cuisine reflects the Guatemalan and Mexican cooking traditions she grew up with, as well as a love for the roots of Southern cooking, based on a soulful approach, seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients and a love of bringing family and friends in the community–Covington and beyond–together over delicious food. Christian gains inspiration from her mother, whose passion for cooking and providing for her family fuel her to success today. To date, no one cooks better rice than her mother. Under her leadership, City Pharmacy has been named one of Atlanta’s Hottest Restaurants by Eater and was called a “dinner experience to rival many in this big city” by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Christian is driven by a commitment to excellence, the call to stay true to her identity, family and loved ones, and the desire to mentor and support her team in the same way mentors and heroes like chef Todd Richards and chef Daniela Soto-Innes have guided her as a chef.
